Troshin [Trochine], Nikolay [Nikolai] Stepanovich (1897-1990)
Well-known Russian and Soviet Avant-garde painter, graphic artist and illustrator; designer of posters, books and exhibitions. Studied in VHUTEMAS. Exhibited from 1918 (Riazan') with Pasternak; in 1931 (Paris) with Altman, Klutsis, Lebedev, Popova (p/h), Rodchenko, Stepanova, Telingater, etc. Troshin was the Artist-in-Chief of the magazine "USSR in Construction" and Lissitzky's co-author in poster design.
