LESOVIKI-MOKHOVIKI ("The Forest or Moss People", Jouets en Mousse), 4 Pieces
Vologda, 19th Century

From the collection of Nathalie Ehrenbourg-Mannati.

Lesoviki-mokhoviki. The two women are carrying wood and the two men have little axes.

Medium: Moss, bark and have pinecones as arms.

Size: 9-1/2" to 11" (24 to 28 cm) high

Exhibited: Paris, 1960 with other items from this collection at "L'ART POPULAIRE RUSSE DU XIXeme SIECLE" (see items 143-146).
