Chernikhov [Tchernichov], Yakov [Iakov, Jacob] Grigor'evich [Grigorievich, Grigoryevich] (1889-1951)

Well-known Soviet architect and graphic artist. Studied in VKhUTEIN (Leningrad). Mostly known for his architectural fantasies. (See Olmo & de Magistris. "Iakov Tchernikhov". Paris, 1995.) Exhibited in 1923 (Petrograd) with Dobuzhinsky, Kustodiev, Larionov I., Lebedev, Mansurov, Matiushin [Matyushin], Petrov-Vodkin, Tatlin, Filonov, Ender, etc.
