Bart, Victor [Viktor] Sergeevich [Sergeyevich, Sergeievich] (Barthe) (1887-1954)

Russian painter and graphic artist. Born in 1887 (Stavropol Province, Russia), died in 1954 (Moscow, U.S.S.R.) Was a member of early Avant-garde / Futurism groups ("Donkey's Tail", "Target") with M. Larionov and N. Gontcharova. Exhibited with such prominent artists as V. Burliuk, D. Burliuk, M. Chagall, A. Exter, N. Goncharova, A. von Jawlensky, V. Kandinsky, M. Larionov, K. Malevich, V. Tatlin, et al.

Victor Bart participated in many exhibitions including: 1910-1911 - BUBNOVY VALET ("Knave of Diamonds")", 1911 - SOYUZ MOLODEZHI ("Union of Youth"); 1912 - OSLINY KHVOST ("Donkey's Tail"); 1913 - MISHEN' ("Target"); 1922 - MAKOVETS. From 1919 to 1936 lived in Paris (1922: Rue de Seine).
