Gagarin, Prince Grigory [Grigoriy, Grigori, Grigorii, Grigorij] Grigorievich [Grigoryevich, Grigor'evich] (Gagarine, Prince Gregoire) (1810-1893)

Well-known artist, archaeologist and diplomat. Vice-Persident of the Academy of Arts (1859-1872). His teacher was a famous Russian artist K. P. Briullov about whom Gagarin wrote memoirs. Also, one of Gagarinís portraits was made by Briullov. A well-known Russian artist M. Zichy used Prince Gagarin's albums for his drawings.
