Bobritsky [Bobritskiy, Bobritski, Bobritskii, Bobritskij], Vladimir Vasil'evich [Vasilievich, Vasilyevich] aka Bobri (1898 - 1986)

Ukrainian/American artist. Born in 1898 in Kharkov, Ukraine. Died in the U.S.A. Painter, book illustrator (mostly children's books), theater artist (costumes and sets), poster artist. Also, he was icon painter, a well-known fashion illustrator (Bobri), and a guitar player.

In early years Vladimir Bobritsky was a member of the Ukrainian Futurist group "7 + 3" with Ermilov, Mane-Katz and others. (See MOMA Collection 209, 262). Later Bobritsky emigrated to the United States.
