Karazin, Nikolay [Nikolai] Nikolaevich [Nikolayevich, Nikolaievich] (1842-1908)

A famous Russian painter, graphic artist and writer. Born in 1842 (Kharkov province, Ukraine), died in 1908 (Gatchina, Russia). Lived in St. Petersburg. Studied in the Imperial Academy of Arts and in Paris from Gustave Dore, et al.

Participated in many exhibitions of St. Petersburg Society of Artists, Society of Russian Watercolorists, etc. His personal exhibitions were in St. Petersburg, Paris and London.

Karazin was a member of the Imperial Academy of Arts. He is a highly acclaimed artist, known mostly for his paintings and drawing on Asia. His works are in State Tretyakov Gallery and mnumerous museums.
