Favorsky, Vladimir
METRO ("Subway"). Original Engraving
Moscow, 17.1.1939

Size in inches: 12-3/4" x 15-3/4" (Plate mark 9" x 11-3/4")

Size in centimeters: 32.4 x 40.0 cm (Plate mark 22.9 x 29.8 cm)

Comments: Artist: Vladimir Favorsky . Text in Russian.
Monogram and date in the plate. 200 copies only.

An enigmatic story. The work was presumably titled and signed by Aron Abramovich Soloveychik (1901-1961), Favorsky's student in VHUTEMAS . The label on the verso also states Soloveichik as the author. However, there is someone's commentary below: "This is an engraving by V. A. Favorsky. The signature is incorrect!" One should agree with that because of the well-known Favorsky's monogram in the plate.
