An important associate copy: the stamp EZGB and inscription certifies that this copy was prepared for Nikolay Nikolaevich Sokolov (the engineer of the EZGB). EZGB (later GOZNAK) provided the best possible quality of printing in Russia at that time. Complete.

Archive of information related to Vsevolod Meyerhold and major theaters in which he worked (Meyerhold Theater and Theater of Revolution).

General description:
The archive consists of clips and articles from Russian and Soviet periodicals. Text in Russian.
All clips and articled are attached either to index cards, or to regular sheets of paper, depending on the size.
There are 293 pieces of information on cards (285 original clips and 8 photocopies), and 249 on sheets.
Each piece of information provided in photocopy has a pocket on the verso of the card containing the photographic negative of the image.
Each card or sheets has an accurate inscription in Russian on the front or on verso stating title of the source, place, year, number of the issue, page.
Pieces large that the size of the card or paper sheet are folded.
Some articles may have two or more pages.
All pieces of information are arranged chronologically.
Complimentary added 12 not attached clips.

Contents:
Time frame: March 3, 1902 to February 1, 1939. From earliest mentioning of Meyerhold's name up to the liquidation of the theater. There are also four clips related to important posthumous events.
Covered: events in Moscow, St. Petersburg, or province; miscellaneous chronicle of Meyerhold's theaters; tours; publication of books by Meyerhold or about him; information on Meyerhold's theatrical school and GEKTEMAS in particular; announcements of performances ( Mariinsky Theater, Meyerhold Theater or Theater of Revolution, also notices of movies; numerous debates or controversies and theater criticism attacking Meyerhold, defending him or his self-defense; various events in which Meyerhold participated; inspired by Stalin's campaign ( A and B) against Meyerhold and his school; etc., etc.
Illustrations include early and later portraits of Meyerhold; portraits of various people associated with him (producers, actors, dramatists, including Mayakovsky; theater sketches by Petr Galadzhev, Il'ia Shlepianov, et al. of sceneries by Victor Shestakov, Liubov' Popova, and other artists; photos of theater performances; caricatures of individuals or groups; etc.

This one of a kind archive containing live documents of the epoch would be an indispensable source information for a specialist in this area. For someone who would publish articles or a book on Russian theater of the first half of 20th century, or on Vsevolod Meyerhold in particular, it would save months or maybe years of research.
